1. Dhyana - Meditation Revolution - day 16

    Namaste!

Huge nap after my meditation today. I think I’ve slept for more than one hour. I felt invigorated after it, and finally I could wake up by 5am today and not get back to bed - althought after my asana serie and meditation I pratically died.

    Good day to you.

    DAY 16

The science is clear: Meditation is good for you! Thousands of studies have found that it lowers blood pressure; reduces the markers of aging; and reduces stress markers, such as cortisol, that can damage the brain and body.

Meditation can also help us deal with physical and mental pain by accessing resourceful inner states, and it increases our capacity for attention. Most excitingly, current studies show that meditators experience more activity in the parts of the brain associated with joy, calm, and compassion, and less activity in the parts of the brain associated with depression and anxiety. In short, people who meditate feel generally happier!

How long do I need to meditate in order to get meditation’s benefits?

Ten minutes of meditation will definitely help you become more centered and calm. At the least it gives you an inner vacation from a busy day, and it’s a great stress-buster. In fact, even 3 minutes of meditation, if you do it with full commitment, should help recharge you. If you meditate for 10 minutes daily you should experience it making a difference in your day.

To gauge the results of your practice, notice how it impacts your day-to-day experience. Generally speaking, people who meditate increase their capacity to feel peaceful and centered. The change might be subtle at first, but you’ll begin to see it, and so will others.
